Novant Health – Hospital Website Redesign

Novant Health allows ease-of-access to local facilities through online services.

Novant Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system serving more than 3.4 million people in 32 counties, from Virginia into South Carolina. Member hospitals include Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem and Thomasville Medical Center in Thomasville. The corporate goal for the organization and the member hospital websites was to help establish Novant as the top regional resource for medical information.

Vialogix began with patient interview research, and determined that Novant had 11 disparate audiences in addition to job seekers and media visitors. Target audiences were prioritized and resulting information architecture was developed for the Novant site as well as the hospital websites. Vialogix integrated multiple software vendors and web applications into a seamless user experience with content management software, resulting in creation of thousands of dynamically-generated pages for Novant and the hospital websites. In addition, Novant wanted to incorporate new functionality such as pre-registration forms and centralized job listings, and introduce a new medical information capability.

Over 60% of maternity patients use the pre-registration form on the hospital sites today saving the organization tens of thousands of dollars in phone support and increasing the feeling of useful information online by Novant’s patients.
